Nothing is signed, so the first launch needs one extra step per platform — install and sign in has all three, and what to read before pointing it at a study you care about. Older versions are on the releases page.

Series splitting

Series that contain several acquisitions (magnitude and phase, several b-values, echoes, time points) are split into separate stacks, which you can upload or leave out. This happens before anonymisation, which removes the tags used to tell them apart.

Burnt-in text check

The anonymiser removes identifying tags, not text burnt into the images. Before anonymising, the app marks areas that look like text banners. It finds large banners and can miss small or faint text, so check every image yourself.

Blanking and cropping

Blanked areas are written into the pixel data of every image in the stack, and cropping removes the rest of the image. The image size and patient position tags are updated to match. Compressed images are decoded first.

Reformats

Coronal and sagittal reformats, and MIP, MinIP or mean slabs of any thickness, added to the case as new series.

Annotation

Coloured structures drawn on a few images of a stack and filled in on the images between them, added to the case as a copy of the stack.

DICOM video

MPEG-2, H.264 and HEVC video is decoded into frames, which you can review, blank and crop like any other series. The frames are uploaded as JPEG.

Local processing

Images stay on your computer until you upload them. Temporary files are deleted when the app quits, or at the next launch after a crash. Your Radiopaedia credentials are stored in the system keychain.
