Giorgio Maria Agazzi

Neuroradiologist

I write open-source software for the parts of radiology work that happen outside the scanner: preparing and anonymising DICOM studies, finding and screening the literature, and writing and checking articles for Radiopaedia. Everything here is free to use and the code is on GitHub.

Uploading and illustrating cases

Radiouploader

v1.6.0

Desktop app · macOS, Linux, Windows

Prepares DICOM studies and uploads them to Radiopaedia.org as draft cases.

Accepts a folder, a zip or loose DICOM files. Splits series that hold more than one acquisition (multiphase, diffusion, SWI), lets you pick series, blank burnt-in text, crop and set the window, then anonymises with Radiopaedia's reference anonymiser and uploads. Also reads DICOM video and can add coronal, sagittal and MIP reformats. Since 1.6.0 you can draw coloured structures on a stack and add the annotated copy, with a legend, to the case. On macOS it can also be installed with Homebrew.

ElectronTypeScriptReactDICOMAGPL-3.0

Runs in the browser · files stay on your computer

Draws coloured overlays on a DICOM series and exports the annotated series for a Radiopaedia case.

Draw a structure on a few key slices and the slices between them are interpolated. A typical use is marking the spinal canal on every slice of a spine MRI. Radiouploader has the same drawing tools built in.

Writing articles

Radiowriter

v0.1.9

Python app in your browser · macOS, Linux, Windows

Finds the literature for a Radiopaedia article, screens it, and helps write the article against it.

PubMed search by line or by concept with every PubMed filter, ranking by citations and SCImago quartile, Unpaywall for open-access copies, reading lists, and a PDF library with a reader you can highlight in. The editor has the section structures Radiopaedia recommends for each kind of article, runs Radiopaedia's linter rules on the draft and exports the HTML their editor accepts. Only the searches and lookups leave your computer.

Radiociter

v1.5.7

Userscript · Radiopaedia article editor

A citation picker in the editor toolbar. Type to cite a reference the article already has, or paste a DOI or PMID to look it up, add it as the next numbered reference and cite it in one step.

JavaScriptTampermonkeyMIT

Userscript · every Radiopaedia article

A Lint button on each article. It sends the article to the radiopaedia.work linter and highlights the findings on the text in the editor, coloured by severity, one at a time.
